Richard Corneille, P.E. Joins San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District Board of Directors

Redlands, CA – April 27, 2005 – Richard Corneille, P.E. of Redlands was appointed to the Board of Directors of the San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District at its April 27 meeting.

The Conservation District performs groundwater management activities for the Bunker Hill basin within a 50,000-acre area. Corneille will represent the District’s Division 1, which primarily covers the City of Redlands. Richard Corneille, along with the other six members of the Board, Cheryl Tubbs, Clare Henry Day, Arnold “Bud” Wright, Glenda Douglas, Melody McDonald, and Manuel Aranda, are responsible for setting District policy.

Corneille brings over 35 years of professional civil and environmental engineering experience to the District, including consulting work on several regional water and wastewater projects and master plans, public sector management as Utilities Director for the City of Redlands, and environmental management for groundwater remediation projects. Corneille is active in professional water organizations, including WESTCAS and ACWA. He has been a Redlands resident for over 25 years.

The San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District ensures recharge of the Bunker Hill Groundwater Basin in an environmentally and economically responsible way, using local native surface water to the maximum extent practicable. The District strives to improve the supply and quality of groundwater, balancing such demands with those of land, mineral, and biological resources.
