SBVWCD Board of Directors reorganizes following oaths of incumbent members

The San Bernardino Valley Water Conservation District Board of Directors has selected a new president and vice president to serve in 2021, following the swearing-in of two incumbent members.

Board members Richard Corneille and Robert Stewart took their oaths of office for new four-year terms at the Dec. 9 board meeting. The board then voted to appoint board Member Melody Henriques-McDonald as board president, and Corneille as vice president for the coming year.

Both Corneille and Stewart ran unopposed for their seats in the November election.

Corneille, a water engineering and project management consultant, has served on the board since 2005 – most recently as president during his 2020 term. He represents Division 1 in the northeastern part of the District.

Stewart, a property manager, general contractor, and licensed civil engineer, was appointed to the board in 2019 to fill a position left vacant by former board member T. Milford Harrison, who was elected in 2018 to the San Bernardino Valley Municipal Water District Board of Directors. Stewart represents Division 3 in the southwestern part of the District.

Incoming board President Henriques-McDonald has been on the board since 1991. She is a real estate broker and represents the District on many organizations and committees.
